More of our April Trip

So, this little slide show starts to show the amount of fish that were caught on out trip.   Still doesn't quite do the trip justice,  but it is starting to come close.

An attempt at a video

So there is only so much you can do with Windows Movie maker.  But I wanted to put some more of our trip on here for people to see.   I actually really enjoy doing it,  just the program wasn't able to put all of my awesome ideas into the production.   But this will work,  Let me know what you think.  And if you have any suggestions on good (cheap or free) movie editing software, let me know.   I could really get into this.

April Fishing Trip

So I am finally getting around to posting about our trip that we did in April.  I had been planning this trip for a year since hearing stories of  the amazing fishing from my uncle and father in law.   The anticipation of this trip was compounded by the fact that I had not been fishing since December, so I spent time looking at pictures and building up in my mind how good this trip was going to be.   The date finally arrived, and our trip to Flaming Gorge Utah began.
My buddy Jesse came with me and we left Sunny Arizona on Wednesday after work.   We drove the entire 14 hours through the night.  Leaving Arizona the temp was in the mid 90's, we drove though the mountains of Utah with snow and ice.   This did little to damped our spirits, in fact, it may had heightened my excitement since I enjoy fishing in the colder temps with snow and rain falling around me.    This was is the area that I grew up in, so the drive up was full of memories and recalling the experiences of my younger years.

If you have never been to the Flaming Gorge area, then you are missing out,  This was Jesse' first time there and I think he enjoyed the experience.  The scenery alone is worth the trip,  and having one of the best fishing rivers in the west and an amazing lake just make it that much better.  The timing of the trip was such that we could hit some of the spawning runs on the Gorge, right before spring runoff made the fishing impossible.     Well, to make a long story short,  the fishing was awesome, and the trip (28 hours of driving and 3 straight days of fishing) was well worth the year of planning and anticipation.

The fishing was awesome.  We spent 2 days on the Gorge and 1 day on the Green.   It had been a long time since I have caught some large trout, and on this trip I caught more large fish than I have in the past 10 years.   The fish were big, strong, amazing colored, and very willing to take our egg patterns that we were throwing to them.   He are a few pics of the better fish.

I am putting together a video of the trip, so stay tuned
